Weather was decent this AM, so I decided to saw on my log pile. Not much shade aside from cloud cover so I didn’t keep at it very long. Didn't know where to go with this wood so I started a row in my staging area. Then I decided to finally use an old tote I’ve had for probably 10+years. I wanted it for a drip irrigation tank (to fill w rain water). That never panned out, and the bladder is toast. So I decided to use it for cooking wood. I had some cherry that needed split. Front of the trailer is some oak my FIL gave me last year. And covered with some rubber so it doesn’t get bone dry too quick.
Its nice to pick away at that kind of pile. When it's go-time in cooler weather, you'll have made that day shorter, or can accomplish more on it.
X2 on the tractor, and the splitter. I have a 35T Huskee purchased new in 2009. Wood Doctor (Edwin from OPE) has been using it the past few years after his was taken. Wish I was as organized as you are.
I got the trailer somewhat full and I started looking around and I have no where to go with splits! Heck of a "problem". But yes, I'm getting a little done at a time. Unless it's cooler out, I don't like working long or hard.
I used to split and throw on a pile but it seemed more efficient to throw right in the trailer and stack. I really wish I had a kinetic over the Huskee. It has served me well but the speed difference would be a game changer.
Nice. I thought about you this weekend at Kevin's when that elm came down. Everybody agreed you should have been there to enjoy it!
