They are just crazy though, I always have to watch my back! Them little buggers like to flog you if you give them a chance.
I can shoot this one more accurately off-hand than any other rimfire pistol I own. It likes Remington HV HP's. Lately I've been using Eley HP subsonics. I bought four bricks of that Eley several months ago.
@Chvymn99 not to sure what he is. Probably a barnyard hybrid. All has been well with the chickens lately. Lost 3 chick's early in the year to weather related stuff. The rooster is happy as a pig in chit as you can see by the hen in the pic. Getting 2 to 5 eggs a day. That Banty hen lays few and far between.
Back in the late 60's, my Dad bought some layers and one rooster. One big, mean rooster with and attitude. The thing always seemed to be on the attack. I ended up "teaching him" how to stay on the handlebars of my bike while I rode it around! (And as usual, no pics!)
Looks like an Orpington rooster to me. I know this is an older thread. My experience Foxes will take a chicken away if it can. Weasels usually suck the blood out and your chicken is just dead. Raccoons will make multiple kills. and the worst i have encountered is the neighbors dog they will kill all. with the last one i usually go by the three Sss Shoot shovel shut up.
I believe your right about it being an orpington. If not it's a cross with orpington. I think it may have been a fox. There was one sniffing around for a bit til I fixed that. Also noticed an eagle around too.
had a fox in the yard three weeks ago. not any more. It was pretty funny watching me crawl through the house with the 17 in my undies. Can't do anything about the eagles maybe take a picture or two
Those .17hmr's are pure badazz..its the most accurate rimfire i have...touch holes out to 75 yards no prob...
