In my 60+ years of stacking I remember only once having a stack tip over. Sadly I did a poor jog of stacking once this summer and may have to redo it. Nuts!
Nothing worse when you have a stack that you think is really stable and down it goes! I feel for you buZZsaw BRAD .
Doh I’ve seen Brad’s storage area in person and in his defense, the water table is very high there. His little corner of the lot is probably (or could be) classified as wetlands.
Well i restacked it today...for a customer. Called them and they were ready for a delivery. They burn indoors year round. Ill reset the rack (itll be earthquake proof) and fill it up with some RTB, or close to it wood.
Sure did. I had them in mind for the wood when i stacked it. (the first time) Nice elderly couple who burn for ambiance. The lightweight splits are a plus and i explained the sassafras snaps, crackles and pops a lot which they like even more. That stack gets lots of sun too as it faces South.
I had a big stack fall in June. Instead of restacking I moved it to the outside the front door rack to burn this winter. I have not pulled the trigger on ad for firewood yet. I’m not feeling 90 deg deliveries.
I wasnt crazy about delivering in the heat, but was at their house earlier this week and saw the rack was empty. The fallen stack was in my way too. Mostly cloudy, some sprinkles and breeze while i stacked so not too bad. Sold a couple 1/4 cords from my other ads in the last month. Couple bundle deliveries too.
I do the same! Ill set them mid height, so there's enough weight to hold them from moving. I install several per stack. I don't think I've lost a stack yet. Sca
