But I have a nice Troy Bilt saw thats ported you can buy cheap lol.

Is Troy's porting work as good as Huskihls?

 

Its better porting than whats in any of your current saws. That's all that matters. Lol

But, there is a reason my good saws wear the XS sticker.

 

I've had two other porters saws but Kevin is my go to till hell freezes over and the devil is handing out free hot chocolate.

My new saw this summer

 

$200 new in the box with half wrap handlebar.
A friend that I cut timber with in Southeast had a MS 660 carcass . He gave me the slightly wrinkled 3/4 wrap handlebar and the dogs.
I bought the 32" ES Light bar and an 8 tooth sprocket and a loop of 3/8 , 50 ga. RS full comp chain. Which came to $197.50
So, I have under $400 into it. And have made $1800 with it so far. And it's not even broke in yet.

 

So far it is pretty much the same as all the 660s I have cut with. Except I never owned an 066 or 660. The ones I ran didn't leave a good enough impression on me to cause me to want to buy one .
It Vibrates like crazy, Guzzles gas the same. Has Lots of snort, lots of Speed even tho it's only turning up around 12 grand so far.
Still lots of dead head at free wheel wot.
I actually Like it. I named it CHINA BLUE. Real original I know

 

I REALLY LIKE the 32"Light bar on it !!
I could flat put some timber on the ground with this the way it's set up.
It even has a factory dual ported muffler. It wouldn't surprise me that it will put out the full 7+ horsepower once it's fully broke in.

I had a 371. And a few 372s. Not sure why they went to the 372. I didn't find any problems with the 371 I had . I cut a bunch of timber with it.

 

Really like my 371. They strengthened the case on the 372's and this helped them support the longer bars being used on the west coast saws.

I ran a 20" bar on my last 372 a bit. It was the longest bar I could run and have the saw fit on the floor of the cab of my loader and have room for my feet.
But they mostly lived with 32" Bars.
No idea why they didn't just stay with the 75 CC p+c. That they had on the 372 Western for a few years. I could not find any cutting performance difference between those and the 460 Stihl's I also had at the time.
There are just some saws that they should still be making . Like the 242 Husky, the 044 Stihl, the 372 Western Husky and the 064 Stihl. The 288 Husky with spring mounts and decomp valve was another.
Tho I really like the 572 Husky. It won't cut any more timber in a day than a 372.
And, it's heavier.

Awesome old school muscle saws, some of the best built imo. Here's my two bad boys. The notorious monster 8500 professional(85cc), and the 4200 (69cc) cv.

 

You asked, you shall receive. (Even got you a pic of some more Stihl stuffs) 2019 390XP fills the 80CC class slot. All that’s left now is 3120 in the 100CC+ class and a 33/37 44. Then on to Stihls if I can ever find some sane prices on them.

 

Very Nice! My MS500i at 79cc is my largest. Been tempted more than once to get a 066/660/661 at 92cc's but really have no "need" for a saw that large. There was an 084 (127cc's) for sale this week that had me give it multiple looks.

Ive heard that Stihl's go for stupid money out your way. I wonder why?
