I came across 3 logs today that I think are Bradford pear but I keep second guessing myself because I’ve never seen any pieces from those trees grow so straight. Each log was roughly 8-10 feet long and almost the same diameter the whole length - straight as poles. Also pictured on the forks is some older red maple.

The larger sections with the rough bark resembles Bradford pear. The smaller limbs not so much. How did it split? The one small score of it I got shattered like glass when I got it on my splitter. I wonder if that’s a different cultivar of pear tree? I’ve seen a couple large ones with straight trunks.

The splits say yes it is BP. If pruned when young i imagine the tree will grow straight up and not limb out.

It split easily enough but as you can see, it’s been down for a while

That's very possible! If it isn't Bradford pear I'm betting Aristocrat pear.

Bark doesnt look like BP but the splits do.
