I decided i would pick hot banana peppers off of one plant completely, 2 plants i took about half the peppers, and 1 plant i left alone.
It's funny all the peppers are growing with the tip straight up.
    Must be male pepper plants...

The peppers weren't getting big like usual.

I tried growing Roma tomatoes 3 years in a row, and got blight every time. :hair: I gave up on that variety and haven’t had blight since.

I never experienced blight or blossom end rot until I tried growing san marzano tomatoes one year. Growing tomatoes used to be the easiest thing in the world up until then. I've hd trouble with blight(s) ever since. That was two years after a grower that supplied the big box stores had trouble with infected plants/soil. It's almost as if that blight got released out into the wild and the local environment still hasn't recovered. I still save all my egg shells, crush them and toss them in the garden.

We grow them every year. This is the first time we got the blight so bad.

The next two weeks I'll probably be watering every day to just to keep the moisture in the containers... Highs of upper 90's and low 100's for the see able future... Definitely glad I put the peppers in the afternoon sun and the Tomatoes in the late afternoon/early evening shade...

Garden went to absolute crap. The only thing that came up is the one cucumber plant behind the house and some zucchini by the barn.

I don’t see the bed overrun with weeds so I’d say you aren’t doing too bad. It’s not too late for another planting of cucumbers or squash. I just planted more myself.

The wife just planted more an hour ago, this time I supervised. Just have to make sure to keep the soil watered.

Grass clippings. We have a lawn sweeper and pick them up every time we mow.

I'm always careful when mowing to be sure the discharge goes away form the garden.....maybe I should change direction?

I add my grass clippings to my garden fairly regularly. That is unless I'm mowing a section where the grass bolted and went to seed :hair:

When would be a good time to out in the poles for pole beans? The plants are about 4-6 inches tall now.

    Nice.

I've been threatening to get some kind of bagger. I inquired at the Ferris dealer about adding a bagger to my new zero, but 2500bucks wasn't happening....o_O
