It's down for now it blew a bucket out of the head.

 

My old reliable MMWS461 got a little more bling. I put on a set of Westcoast Saws felling spikes. They are ludicrously long, but they are made of really strong/heavy duty steel, much thicker and stronger than my old aftermarket dogs. I think they are designed for digging into the thick bark on huge west coast soft woods, but thought they might be good for getting a bite in the dead oaks I've been felling lately. The mostly have loose bark and rotten sapwood, so it can be a chore to dog into them. At least that's my excuse. The 28" bar is pretty new for that saw, too. Now, if only somebody would come up with a decent looking air filter cover for the MS461 MaxFlow. That thing is hideous.

I had a few of those little Homelite saws when I was in full collection mode.

 

I had a bunch of the same saws myself.
When I did a shop cleanup a few years back I gave them to a co-worker who collects saws , Never used them and not even sure where they came from so I passed them on.
That's the double trigger Homelite , That seems to be the one that people are looking for.

 

I had a couple of the double trigger models as well as 3-4 of the singles. The long and short handle versions. I like the shorty with single trigger. I only cut with mine to test after fixing. I always use my 2511 instead lol.

 

I was lucky and just purchased a NOS never run XL single trigger 12". Just like I had as a kid.

 

A buzzsaw makes quick work of slabs.

 

After felling a large oak at my parents with the 394 and slinging that thing around I decided it wss time for a full wrap handle. My main felling saw is my 365sp but occasionally i need to use the 394. The kit I bought came with larger felling spikes too . She's much easier to handle now. Haha get it, "handle"

Works good but the wood is very soft.
I left this for my brother to run he trimmed al the limbs down while I blocked
He's ordering himself one.

 

I have one of those little Chinese top handles. Haven't blown it up yet....

 

Heck of a windstorm blew this tulip poplar down. Got most of it cleaned up after lunch. XS362c got er done.
