If you're like me it's kinda weird. Feels good to be close to the bottom, but worried about running out. It's a real catch 22 sometimes. I'm just wired that way I guess.

Worked for just under 5 hours today and am fairly beat. Not sure which factor tired me out more- running the saw with the 36” bar, day 4 in a row of getting after it pretty good, the increasing heat (was 89 with a real feel 99 when I stopped today) or a combination of all 3. I’m guessing the middle part of that had the biggest influence since I put 2.5 gallons of gas through the saw since Tuesday morning. I only have 4 more logs left that require the long bar and then 20 more hood size mixed hardwood logs till I’m out of them! Going to the movies tomorrow with the family but may sneak a couple hours in first thing. Here is a maple log with the 36” bar on the 390. When I started cutting I had to lift the saw up to my armpits (I’m 6’2”). This log on the forks was just under 36” across. Tractor would only lift it about a foot off the ground.

Sounds like a combo of things Joe. I rarely put a couple tanks through a saw running the 36" bar. I dont fare well in the heat and even worse in full sun.

Got over there early this morning and in about 2.5 hours I finished off the logs that needed the 3’ bar…3 more tanks of gas worth. I then put the 24” bar back on to cut “smaller wood”. Mostly maple that was right around 24” in diameter. When I first picked the saw up with the short bar back on, it felt like a toy. Haha. I got out of there just before 10am. Wife has a lunch and movie date planned which I’m totally fine with. Already soaked through one shirt and I could use the brake.

Glad you got finished with the big boys. It's a combination of all 3, I think. I know I was wore out a few nights this past week.

It’s not quite 10am. I’ve had 3 log deliveries from my tree guy so far and a load from a buddy who was cutting trees down at his gfs place. Log guy says he’s hauling all day. Looks like the empty yard didn’t last. The flat bed is from my buddy. He says he will have at least two more loads.

I felt the pressure of trying to move logs and straighten piles up as fast as I could so as not to take up more space than necessary. The flatbed truck came 3 times today and it had to be unloaded with the tractor. It really was a hectic day. My log guy was bringing more but I left around 2pm.

Take it in stride and take it easy on yourself. Tomorrow’s another day. Hopefully the tree guy takes a little break too.

Well, the good thing is, you got the older wood cleaned up before it got really bad.
And now you have something for your help to do. I know the feeling.
