I’m eyeing an nearly new TW-2HD (original style), and am on the fence due to parts/service and wondering if the newer makers of large splitters are making a better machine. I have had a TW-1P for 15 years, and it owes me nothing. The 2HD is 25% faster cycle time and likely could handle the 4-way wedge better than the TW1 can. Any thoughts from owners? jrider
My small splitter with the 4 way is a 22 ton iron and oak. It does great on most pieces with the 4 way wedge. My big splitter is a tw6. The local dealer is great but the new company can be difficult to work with for parts

With no advantage in actual force (Tonnage), it'll run the 4-Way the same as the 1P. There is a nice gain in cycle time though, and a 2" rod will be more durable than the 1.5"
