Back side has 4 fit panels that sit on a 4x4 and has a male key. Panels have a female. Lift them up to fit the notches for the roof joist, push the bottom in a little and let the door drop into the key. Then we screw a baton to the joist at top of the panel to hold it tight. Can be a one person job but much easier with two. a view from the front
Changed my soiled linen Was hoping to find a lot of stuff to toss or relocate. Organize is for another day
I finished covering a bunch of hardwood and some shoulder season wood. We have 8 face cord of shoulder season wood out of 12 covered, we have 28 face cord of hardwood covered. We have enough covers for another 4 or 5 face cord of hardwood that I'll do this week. I'm hoping we have enough covers that I can top cover the last four face cord of pine for a total of 12.
Tomorrow I'll clean the dirty saw and then fix some runners in the stacking area the maple is going. I'll start hauling out the last of the maple this week, if the maple that's left in the woods doesn't finish the stack, I can find enough hardwood around the house that will finish the job. After the above is done, I'll start making room for stacking some beech, hopefully two face cord.
Don't forget to enjoy summer while you're at it.....you may have to put in a request for approval on that one!!!
I've had a bunch of help from mother nature felling the trees, late last fall she (mother nature) put down some nice beech and maple that helped out the firewood inventory. yooperdave , we plan on doing that soon but I still have another two face cord of beech that needs s/s.
Since we had some good rains early this morning, I decided getting rid of some tops and clearing an older trail would be my work for the day. The areas I cleaned up today are usually just walking trails but I spent some extra time cleaning up enough of the downed chit that the trails are wider and the Kubota can get through. This helps me out big time, I can get closer to some old tops so I can clean a few areas up and make a new entrance to the trail in the gulley.
Spotted a large ash that had blown over in the recent high winds here. Today, I stopped with the mini truck and had at it. Parked the white truck as far off the road as I dared but didn't have any orange cones to place behind it buZZsaw BRAD style. The tree ended up almost being all shot due to rot and ants and hollow. But, I did get a good facecord out of it in thewoodlands style
Dont always have the cones with me, but if i know ill be scrounging roadside and in a higher traffic area ill take them along. Hoard on and cut safe Dave!
Nice work yooperdave , an extra face cord never hurt. If you do get some cones, I think buZZsaw BRAD can send you a conehead hat.
I was watching the Yankee game when I heard a noise in the woods, sounded like some wood came down, I'll check that out tomorrow.
