Have to get another one for business only and keep this one I have now for my personal stuff. The new one should only be a couple hours a day (I think). I don't do well with laptops- My desk is 42" -an organizer I have ~35" This monitor is 21" wide (its actually an all in one, cpu is in the back so heavy to mount) maybe a little tower with a monitor mounted like this that I could pull over when I use it, and push back when done? Maybe a souped up laptop with flip screen I can mount on wall or arm and use an external keyboard? I'm stumped but need to get one soon but also need to be comfortable using it everyday. Thank you for any ideas
I think you found the best answer...Do you need two screens or two computers? We have guys that work here that have 5 screens, but only one computer.
There is the answer. Only one monitor. Press a button and the monitor switches from one computer to the other.
Yes, he wants a totally separate computer, business only. He's wary of all the surfing I do on my personal computer
Yep we got two screens per computer at work. Makes things much easier doing files. Now how much fire power you need for the computer portion thats a different story. We have a server that backs up, so our computers are very small. Think like a good hard copy book big. So most of our "important" stuff is left on the server...
Been using a laptop as primary computer for 10 plus years now. I have a 27” monitor mounted on the wall next to my old roll top desk that I pull the monitor over and have it positioned over the laptop screen vertically. Moving primary screens I need up and down with the laptop screen underneath as secondary works well for me. My laptop is my tether to my work so a lot of daily time is spent on it. I did try running 3 screens, slinging to an hdmi tv, and other idle ideas, but keep going back to this setup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There is the option of running a virtual machine on a computer, you can keep your personal separate from the business side. 2 operating systems, 1 computer. you could use 1 large monitor or use 2 and send the virtual machine screen to the 2nd monitor.
I ended up getting a refurb computer that comes with mouse/keyboard, monitor. Then an articulating screen mount arm I can pull out and then push back when done. Neither of us know enough to combine things and there are not house call techs here. After I get my desk nook/rats nest cleaned out and the new desk put in comes the real work, learning how/what/where to enter accounting data in the online accounting program. Ugg I'd do better with paper ledgers like I learned but this is how things work these days. Depending on how things go I might just treat myself to a new 10 key paper tape calculator if it will help double check my entries lol.
There should be training videos available for the software you are using. You might have to pay for a series but it would be worth it in the long run. Google to see if there is a support group for the software as well.
