it was a beautiful winters day here in south east Australia. Temps were 12-13 degrees Celsius with no wind so I ducked out to my friends farm and got myself a nice load of yellowbox. Wrecked 1 chain on a rock but always carry plenty of spares. Cut too much but I’ll get that next time. Tomorrow I’ll be splitting I think!
Dang, it was miserable hot yesterday here in the mid-atlantic region of the US. This morning it's a comfy 65f with cooler temps predicted for the weekend. I'm going to split wood till I can't no more.
Great pics! And a little irony; your winter temps and our summer temps are about the same. Only going to be in the upper 50s with a good breeze in VT today.
Some nice cutting conditions and a view to die for. Do you get any trees that grow straight up down under? Were kinda spoiled by that around these parts.
Yes! The cool feels great. I just stopped after hauling 5 loads this morning. It was 54 when I started and 64 now. Absolutely beautiful.
We do get straight trees over here but not out at this farm I cut at. I do get jealous at all the straight grained stuff I see on here.
Found myself some spare time so got all that split stuff stacked. This wood will be used in 2024. I’ll keep it outside until next autumn then put in the shed for another year.
