More firewood. Had a couple of large branches come down and half of my apple tree in last night's storm. Spent the day dragging branches to the back. To hot to make any firewood.

 

Backwoods Savage I figured out what I did wrong. Shoulda used the upload file button. Getting old ain’t no fun. Sometimes I feel like I’m losing it.

 

Might have the wind effect but if he can turn one of them big windmills I’d be impressed. Other than that, you’d be spot on with the other assumptions!

We did, and they just said to stay home five days and 48hrs after the last fever. No meds I guess unless you are high risk. He is feeling better today. My wife is feeling a sore throat coming on so we’ll see how it goes.

 

Even though it was hot out, I thought it would be a good idea to do some splitting and stacking. Got two mini truck loads done and drank lots of water before I started feeling not so good. That was enough! At least the deer flies weren't out yet but I expect them any day now.

So, in order to take a break, I went for a ride.......on the riding mower! We had a hatch of dragonflies on sat but they have definetly peaked today! Man, they were thick while I was cutting the lawn.....if I had wipers on that rider, I probably would have turned them on!!!!

Then, before I went in for the night, I planted a row of green beans. I'll plant another row in 2-3 weeks to keep that fresh goodness on the table a little longer.

Potatoes, cauliflower, carrots, cherry tomatoes, carrots, cukes, and sunflowers. I think thats it. Maybe throw in some pumpkins this weekend.

 

Dragonflies eat mosquitoes. One advantage to having them around.

One of the homes we've lived at had small "jack" pines all around the house... and... gazillions of skeeters and black flies. And, just like you described, a big swarm of dragon flies would eventually show up, and take em out. If you stood still, in the middle of the back lawn... you'd have 30-40 of them taking out all of the bfs around you. Cool. Big fan of dragon flies.

 

Here we go again. Both my wife and I came down with Covid during the night. 2nd time for both of us. Guess we’ll be inside for a while.
