Here it is....The 6th of June..../and it is raining.....Little stove on through the night.
    Crazy weather.
Normally we would have shut the stoves off for the summer by now.....
Occasionally we have a spot fire a few times through the Summer to take the chill off if we get some boomers pop up of an afternoon and result in a cool cloudy morning....

The ground is nearly saturated still....and the forecast is talking about another atmospheric river event later this week....
And the dammed fools keep crying drought.....

Glad we grabbed shells at the end of the plants operational season......
Maybe this will be a summer of the green tomatoes.....

Been years since we had one of those...

    Pulled the trigger and :makeitrain":makeitrain"

Samsung Mini Split Heat Pump system being installed tomorrow and Tuesday. Mitsubishi still backordered plus its a more expensive option than Samsung

36K BTU outside. 1-15K downstairs and 2-7K upstairs (1 in each bedroom). Able to add 1 more if I want to down the road.

Max Heat version compressors came available. $1,900 more than standard but will heat at 100% efficiency to 5 deg outside vs 37 deg on standard model.

With high cost of oil, this may be used as supplemental heat. Heck it could very well replace or at least reduce use of the pellet stove at some point as that is getting more and more costly an option as well. Now, not only will AC be covered, but there will also be 3 options for heating

Also, higher efficiency means it qualifies for $1,415 in rebate from my elect utility (NH Elec Coop) where the standard model was zero rebate so its $500 out of pocket after rebate.

Installing co just became Preferred status with Samsung so its a 12 year warranty. Installing co provides 5 years complete installation parts and labor warranty on top of that plus 1 clean/tune up included.

Wow, is that out of pocket cost (after rebate) of $500 a typo? If not, that is superb! Or maybe, after re-reading, the compressor cost is $500 not the whole system. I think I just answered my own question .

3 choices for heating is great to have. And, as we get older, the option not to lug as many bags of pellets around for 6-8 months is also nice.

Yep, pretty sure he means the MaxHeat upgrade will only cost $500 OOP. And yes, options are good!

I always seem to install mine when there's no rebates. No rebate the year I installed my pellet boiler (and only that year, rebate returned the next year) and no rebate the year I installed my heat pump.

My power plant is a Mitsubishi heat pump, but only because Mitsubishi bought Turboden.

Yes, the $500 out of pocket is the upgrade from standard to Max Heat version.

I WISH the entire system was that

I wasnt expecting a rebate but it was just recently reinstated here. As I mentioned, the standard heat pump didnt qualify but the upgrade version does.

Would have liked Mitsubishi but on backorder. Also more expensive.
