Black fuel tank on a running machine in the hot sun? Maybe just expansion?

Fair enough. I took the vent out and put it back in. Seems to be not leaking now.

I have a couple of engines that if filled rather full will splash up when running and weep out the vent.

Never fill them to the top (especially a Pred motor). That rubber hose on the top of the tank will vent the excessive fuel back to the carb and cause it to run poorly.

I've replaced mine. Seems as though that Chinese rubber hose fails quickly.

The in tank strainer that comes on Pred motors usually has a red full mark on it (if it's still in the tank).
