Bosnia and Herzegovinia may ban the export of most wood pellets in anticipation of needing them for domestic consumption this coming winter. Everyone is Europe seems to be looking for more pellet contracts.

So, if all Europe is scrounging, that no doubt will also have some bad effects here.

Its actually a little insane it’s easier to ship pellets across the ocean than produce our own here. Much of the granite stones you see buildings made of come from China. I’m aware of the difference paid for labor but shipping solid granite? Not sure how this globalist economy is helping the lower pay scale people’s of the earth. Seems more like increasing slavery in some cases.

For better or worse, we are one interconnected civilization. All I know for sure is that at no time during the last couple years, have I thought to myself, "man, I scrounged way too much firewood"

Somewhat related I'd guess, glad to hear the EU is slowing down import of Russian oil...

Thank you I just made a decision on wavering on buying more wood. I think I might pay extra for split :sherlock:

I've read a couple different articles that we ship a lot of pellets to the UK currently and I have no doubt it will increase this year, as well as $$ increasing. Ugg, we use pellets for most our heat.

What percent of the world market does Bosnia and Herzegovina represent and what percentages are the respective residential/commercial market(s) ?
iirc, commercial pellets ship in bulk and are a different size and grade from residential pellets that are mostly bagged.

With global supply chains disrupted as they have become I wouldn't put off buying pellets and maybe even other fuels for this Winter.
    Now.

Real question here - has anyone in a fit of curiosity dove down the rabbit hole of what hemp materials can be made?
That's my powerball dream: hit it huge, retire to the hills of somewhere away from the city and ramp up a hemp farm & industry.

(Evidently each part of the hemp plant can be separated out for different uses, and of those - pellets / compressed bricks for heating are among them)

There's a hempwood(lumber) startup in Kentucky someplace that I have read about. They need bulk raw materials from around within 100 miles and I guess they can get two 120 day crops in there.

Many years ago one of my few neighbors was a Polish immigrant. Old enough to have been in the Polish resistance during WWII. A logger by trade. As close to a mountain man as you’re ever find in Ct. Lived in a cave for the duration of the war.
He extolled the virtue of hemp. He used to grow it before the war.
I worked with him daily. Thousands of stories I was too young and dumb to fully appreciate.

I just messaged a FB seller for 3 cords, no storage for a bulk purchase of pellets so want the wood here if pellets aren't available as well as husbands back goes out all the time now the last few years regarding unloading pellet pallets from the truck bed.
Is hemp part of marijuana or a different plant?
