It is truly sad (and shameful as a country) that less than half of the U.S. population knows what Memorial Day (formerly Decoration Day) is about. It is NOT about barbecues, a long weekend, and cheesy TV sales ads, but a day and time of remembrance for those military servicemembers who paid the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation. Rest in Peace and Thank You to our service men and women of all races and religions who selflessly gave their lives for our country. We remember and you are never forgotten. And to those who continue to wish people a "Happy" Memorial Day....ignorance is bliss apparently. For many of us, there is nothing happy about Memorial Day and in fact, it is usually one of, if not the most difficult day/time of the year.
Thanks for posting EODMSgt I got up late to get this out and fell asleep in my chair last night so i didn't get to it! God Bless all who served and payed the ultimate price! My Grandfather is one of those casulties during WWII, he was sunk by a German U-boat. Let us never forget!!!
