Champion 27T splitter kill switch doesn't work

New splitter. First season to use. Today the kill switch would not work. Used the choke to kill the motor. Hoping it's a easy fix. Any thoughts.

 

What machine. Or actually who’s motor.
First thought is there a wire that goes to kill that might be disconnected? Kill switch grounds out the circuit to shut it down.

 

Champion uses their own motor. I read somewhere that it's a Honda copy. Don't know for sure.

If you have a multimeter you can check for continuity on the wires for ground as well as for continuity on the switch when turned to the off position.

If it's new they come with a 2-year warranty so just call them up and they can send you the new part once you figure out what the problem is.

I just fixed a 395xp chainsaw that not only had a bad wire but the screw itself was loose on the connection to the case.

Set it to OHMs and short the leads together and rotate your dial (if it's an old school multimeter) to reset to 0. Then check what you're going to check.

It could be a faulty switch. It could be a broken wire. It could be a loose ground screw or connection. Or any combination of the three.

I have the 34T Champion splitter and I absolutely love mine.
