It’s actually stacked there are metal fence posts driven on each end of the stacked wood, plus I take about 6-8 ft of tie wire doubled, then, twisted together in a row of wood with a piece of wood on the end. Then stack more wood on top of the wire, using the wire as a “ dead man” which in turn keeps the post straight and the wood straight also. This helps to keep the posts from leaning out board, and eventually bending. Using a drill to twist the wire with, works great as well.
Good idea with the wire to hold the posts. I did a similar thing with an old trailer I had. When I piled it above the sideboards they would bow out. I would fill the trailer water level high to the side boards then run a come-along from side to side to straighten the sideboards, then bury the come-along with more splits. Same idea as your wire.
