I'd probably have to be a bald cypress with a coating of frost on it because that would match my hair situation, balding and getting white in what's left.
Norway Spruce...... I tried growing a couple here in South Dakota, but they can't take any amount of drought and we sometimes have wet and dry spells
Ash, I think I would pick a different one, but people call me one all the time. I'm figuring it's because of ash's well liked characteristics. It's amazing how many people mispronounce it though, but I correct them.
What kind of ash do they think you are? Apparently there are many varieties of ash trees. I have heard of "stupid ash, dumb ash, fat ash (large trunk or bole), ash hat (must be a reference to the shape of the leaves or canopy), total ash, big ash, dammed ash, ash hole (a sign of decay). I'm sure there are many others. As I consider, maybe you are an ash. I was once identified as an ash also. A "complete, majestic" ash! That guy must have been a tree expert because he sure nailed it!
I would say there is a lot that think I am a dumb ash or a ash hole, there is also some that are so impressed I can hear them say Wow, what an ash as they walk away.
Yep, a larch (they call them Tamaracks here) would be my choice. A conifer, but still golden in the fall and bright green in the spring. Pretty tough, and disease resistant. And when life is over and it goes into the woodstove, it makes a nice crackly fire, still bringing joy and wonder into others' lives.
PNW poetry right there. Also, I’ve been jonesing to get my hands on a wood stove full of tamarack to see what all the fuss is about.
I’d probably be a big ol’ Doug Fir in Rocky Mountain National park. But… I used to live in an apartment that backed up to a graveyard. I’d sit on my little balcony, sipping a beer - looking out at the graveyard. The giant oaks and locust trees always seemed so peaceful. I always thought of them as the guardians of the graves. That wouldn’t be a bad gig.
