I needed to spread some fertilizer and was waiting to do it just ahead of a nice rain. Went on a bike ride and when I got home I noticed the rain (on radar) was about 70-80 miles west of us and coming straight east. Hurried to get the job done and the stuff all put away. Good, I beat the rain but the sky was looking awfully dark. Came inside and got on the forum and made several posts. Surprised the rain had not started so looked again at the radar. It's gone! It all disappeared! Some days go that way... But, they say rain every day or a chance of it for the next week except for one day.
We got hit hard with rain today but like usually the worst went north and south of us, I hope you get some rain.
Some days it's like that It's been off and on all week here. The good news though, is that it should rain in the near future To help that fertilizer work it's way into the soil
Just my luck, we had a call for scattered showers overnight. When I looked at the weather on the news they said everything was north of us. I left my drivers side truck window down last night
No shortage of rain here in Indiana. Some areas have gotten over 9" in the last 24 hours! There may be hope for you guys E. of here yet!
Had a pretty ugly thunder and lightening storm last night. I was outside working... 70+* and off in the distance a double rainbow and cloudy. Not even 15 mins later it's goes almost pitch black and darn near a flash flood. I had so much water coming down my driveway that the firewood I dumped there was floating off into my yard! Lightening and thunder (which isn't very common) shaking the house. I guess the plus was it shut down that damm state fair early (I have to deal with it... live like 1/4 mile away) and I got some of my garage cleaned. Found tools I forgot I even owned, stuff I used probably 2 or 3 years ago and never put away!
Well, no rain here. It all disappeared and this morning they changed the forecast. Instead of rain every day, not there is none forecast for the next week. But, they'll probably change it again. Pete is right about the humidity. It is downright awful. Nate, I remember going to the State fair when we were there and I had a good time.
Dew point on my outdoor weather station said 77 degrees earlier today. It's down to a more pleasant 73 now. Earlier tonight I cut the grass, weed whacked, mowed the ditch and asked myself why I didn't do all that earlier in the week. Feels like Florida outside tonight. I haven't felt humidity like this since 2012 when I was in Tampa.
Humidity's been bad here too. We've had the air on for the entire week now. Barely makes it back into the high 60's at night, and mid 80's during the day, with humidity levels much too high for comfort. Was hoping this weather would stir up some storms, but no such luck. We're really really dry here, although not west coast dry. I have a crack in the backyard I can fit almost my entire foot into. Fortunately, it hasn't been too hot up till this point, so the crops are hanging in there. Trees are starting to drop their leaves though. I'm gonna start dragging the hoses around this weekend.
OMG! It gets very uncomfortable when the dewpoint is over 60 and almost unbearable over 70 here. I can hardly imagine 77!!! For sure the air conditioner would be on!
