Seeing they did that with mats shows respect for the property they are working on. Thats a HUGE plus in my book.
Just make sure you know what they are and arent doing so there is no confusion or misunderstanding in the end.

 

The locust tree finally came down.

4hrs. Really amazing to watch this guy do his thing. A lot of good wood.
Looking for someone to mill this into dimension lumber...but not having
much luck. Most will go for firewood. Have started roughing out
box blanks. So sad to see this tree lying in the back yard. Nothing lasts forever.
Enjoy every day.

Looks good to me. Doesn't have to be precise anyway, till it's dry and you want to do something with it. Then it can be planed or LF drum sanded.

 

Are you making boxes out of solid blanks? No joinery but the top?
I did that once with a piece of apple wood. Mostly to see what would happen. I was surprised how stable that wood was. Not a check or warp ever.

Sad to see that tree go. I envy Honey Locust like that. Around my parts Honey Locust are FULL of HUGE thorns and invasive, but of course it makes great firewood. The Powderpost beetles will make quite the mess the first year, sawdust everywhere, make sure you don't store the wood too close to anything you don't want the sawdust on, it gets everywhere after a good wind. You could be proactive and spray it with Permethrin, or some other mild insecticide.

Some firewood is easier than other....
