I have a very good running Craftsman (same as Poulan 3400 counter vibe) that idles, oils, and runs well. It has 125 psi of compression and has an 18" bar/chain. Everything works and is in very good shape for its age. This is when a Craftsman was a darn good saw to own. I also have a Poulan Counter vibe 3400 (same as above, but Green ) That is only missing the oil cap. It has spark and 125 psi of compression, but will not start. Likely a carb issue or fuel line? Never got a chance to look into it. It has a 20" bar and chain. I would like to sell both to the same person, but will separate if needed. I would rather sell the Poulan first, if I am gonna separate them. The Craftsman, I would like $130 shipped. The Poulan? I don't know? It is probably and easy fix? I just don't have the time anymore. Funds are needed for other projects. Shoot offers for one, or both. More pics on request. Thanks Dex
With spark and 125 compression, I would have no concern about getting that 3400 running they are built like tanks. In a good way. I recently took two parts saws and made a solid runner out of them, so unfortunately for Dex I already have one.
A real Poulan! And pretty darn clean. Some good stuff on the trading post lately. Unfortunately, I have to stop buying and now ship out another to make room for the new Johnny Red.
I'd be all over that 3400 as a counterpart to my 3700 if I had more time and more play money. Now if it was a 5200 I'd be all over that saw like white on rice......
If I didn't already have one I would make an offer. To anyone considering this saw; I have a parts 3400 and can send you an oil cap and I have a carb but cant vouch for it, for free if that is holding anyone up.
