Cooked a big breakfast for the family. Biscuits, bacon, and eggs. Got a cherry corner bench finished and installed for my MILs new kitchen breakfast area. Strung wire for the blackberry trellis. Replaced fuel filter on tractor. Hauled 10 bucket loads of tree service leftovers from neighbors house. Not great stuff but you don't turn down cut to length firewood 100 yards from your house. Got the tractor and quad on the trailer and ready to haul tomorrow. Easter vigil mass tonight...gonna be a late one.
Small tree job today, few pines and a cherry, I was debating on grabbing some cherry as I've already got a few trees of it cut down out back, more to go and I didn't want to "waste it" on heating but it smells great so when I saw how solid it was I had to grab it, my buddy wasn't wanting to climb it cause of the rot and shock loading while it leaned over a garage. So a simple redirect was set up to my truck and pulled it over. I'm thinking about CSS'ing it tomorrow but it's going to a family friend for the winter and don't want to handle it 2-3x. Dishwasher: He cut the laminate out today, there's an additional layer of subfloor over the decking, but we got it out. No GFCI on the outlet behind the washer, plugged it into a different outlet to make sure, it's dead. Parts from my best guess are $360 + shipping. I bought a new washer from Lowes for $450 instead. ($80 delivery where I live). www.lowes.com/pd/Hotpoint-60-Decibel-Built-in-Dishwasher-Hard-Food-Disposer-Black-Common-24-in-Actual-23-75-in-ENERGY-STAR/5001459507 I wanted the one with dial controller but it only had a bottom sprayer, and with todays detergents I didn't want to chance coffee cups and glasses on the top rack not getting clean like with this pricey washer when I forget to set the sprayers and BOTH upper and lower. No option to turn the dry cycle off for plastics but oh well. I am so over stainless steel, between drips, fingerprints and doggies shaking off snow....... I got black, I'll happily wipe that down with a dishrag instead of the ss polish.
Splendid weather. I spent part of it getting my little 4Runner rolling. It has been a great political campaign car. It has room for yard signs, and a rolling back window that makes getting things out of the cargo area easy. 2Wd 4 cylinder. It will eventually find its way to the tree farm as a back up vehicle. Had a debate with my brother who is of the “never needed one before “. Guess who broke down ten miles from the place? Expected me to drive 90 miles to tow him, rather than pay a wrecker. Nope. It needed a new battery, and a good cleaning. The blower was making a racket, so dropping the fan assembly found it full of mouse nest. Probably invested a good dose of hant-virus. Did a little fence row cleaning then hit the liquor store which had a 20% discount for minimum of three bottles of wine or spirits. Splurged on some Woodson Reserve, and Riff, and Evan Williams- the better and less expensive than Jack Daniels- for my “shower whiskey”. Y’all keep shower whiskey , don’t you?
I don't know what shower whiskey is, but I like evan Williams. It's good stuff. I'll admit, I've had a shower beer before. You know what they say. You can't drink all day if you don't start first thing in the morning.
Went over to our friends house for Easter dinner. While we were there, I saw a young beagle in their front yard. I went out, called it over. No tags. No collar. So we watched for anyone looking for a dog. We kept the young beagle in the house, for about a half hour. Eventually, a guy was walking around in their yard looking like he was looking for a dog. Yep. It was his. For a few moments we were thinking we'd have to take her to a vet to get scanned for a chip.
Lol. I think she was chasing squirrels. She was a small one, one of those 13" tall ones. Very cute. Probably a year old. She had fun playing with our friends 10 lb min pin Chihuahua mix while she was at their place.
