    When i run out of saws to buy or when my sig line takes up a whole page (whichever comes first) then i get them ported...or at least one!

    Just looked up on google images and it looks exactly like it..also looks very similar to chesnut oak but is too lightweight and bark is a little different

    When the bark is nicked or cut the orange underneath gives it away too. The splits smell great. One of my favorites to split and smell. Split it tomorrow and give a good sniff. Wood on the lower btu side and good for shoulder season. Spits a lot. VERY rot resistant. Milled some last Fall and looking forward to making some outdoor stuff out of them.

    The stuff is so small here I didn't think It got over 2-3" in diameter. Cool. In 200 years the patch of them I have might be big.
