Ouch! Sorry that happened. Closing gaps happen quite frequently with knarly wood and the hydros. I see guys with their hands on the logs both splitting and retracting and can never figure out why on the forward motion. The retracting part is easy to see because you are trying to reset it for another split while the ram is going back. Those gaps close up quick and tight! In hindsight, you probably would have been better to keep the thumb in place and move the ram forward to open the gap up BUT natural reaction is to pull back quickly. Heal quickly my friend!

Sure makes a feller think when something like that happens... it's a very thin line between "everything's going just fine" to "I wish that hadn't happened"!
I hope you heal quickly, buddy.

Sorry to hear that buZZsaw BRAD. Hope you mend quickly without complications. I hate it when folks get hurt doing what they love.

Ouch! Very sorry to hear that, buZZsaw BRAD . I'm sure you'll be chomping at the bit in no time to get back to hoarding. Hoping for a quick recovery. Get well soon, brother.

Little superglue and good to go. definitely a wakeup call to stay aware, WOrst that's happened so far for me is a piece popped out and smacked me in the balls.
I try to just palm the wood once it's on the beam. We need to send you the sticker that says " I cause safety briefs"

Brilliant! :yes:Injury by injury, Brad keeps adding black locust pieces until he’s more tree than man. *cue Six Million Dollar Man theme music*

Seriously though Brad, really glad to hear it’s not worse, and impressed (but not surprised) you’re handling it with a positive attitude. Maybe stick to your 9 amp Homelite for a while ;)

Smashed finger pain is the worst imo. I’m sure you’ll find a way to hoard with the injury, but relaxing is cool too while it heals. You won’t get behind.

Not good Brad. You're gonna have to take at least a week off from hoarding

My left hand is fine. So is Brad's right hand. I guess we could paddle in a straight line.
