A 30 pack of Busch Light got me a delivered load of Hedge and Honey locust… …. On my way home from work, spotted some tree trimmers. Stopped and asked what they were going to do with it. “It’s all yours if you want them. Just so happens that my house was on his way home. I told him I’d get him some beer if they wanted to drop it off… hopefully I’ll get a smaller load of hedge tomorrow. That they’ll be cutting down in the morning.
... Thats why I laid a tarp down to catch them. There a bit of a pain to deal with but well worth the effort ... Haven't had a good Honey Locust score for a few years. The last one was the thorny version too. A pair of clippers and a chicken feed bag will do just fine. ... Plus no brush and long cuts to make this a no brainer...
Idve given him two 30 packs to deliver it to me...but im in Connecticut! Awesome score Kevin! Those thorns scare me. That one pic they look like antlers.
Guessing you just burn em? Probably be a nice bonfire! I also have all the BL I want outback so I don't bother with those spears. Sent from my LE2127 using Tapatalk
Honey locust although the hybrid yard variety is thornless but wood just as good. I think hedge has thorns on its limbs, but i may be wrong.
There may be better ways to dethorn honey locust, but I use my sawzall with a long blade. Rips the thorns off pretty fast and easy.
That's worth a 30 of good beer there, nice score! I'd save a couple bags of those thorns to line the perimeter with in case of shtf.
Those thorns work great to clean out the groove on your bar & as toothpicks for after dinner. Preferably not the same thorn for both tasks or at least use it for a toothpick first…
