First mow of the season

My daughters shed and no idea what’s nesting there. Lots of springtime visitors that I don’t recognize. Had some wood ducks until I had to cut their tree down. Ducks flying into a tree cavity was a bizarre sight.

Our lawn needs mowing but it has been so wet to do it. If we get a couple of days of dry weather, it would help.

 

Our grass is just starting to get a little green to it.

 

Ours too, spring snow this morning, gramps used to call poor man’s fertilizer.

 

I've never heard it called that. Too bad it doesn't do anything good for the grass growing, unless you're in a drought. Now spring lightning storms are a great poor man's fertilizer. Breakdown: Why lightning is good for agriculture.

 

I had to push mow some high grass today. Too muddy for the rider.

 

Did you guys get snow on Friday? This was Friday morning by us.

 

Mowed for the first time last Saturday and it needs it again. We typically need to mow every 4-6 days May and June. Last frost is typically April 15th.

 

I've mowed our grass at least 3 -4 times already, we live in the PNW. Grass seed is a big time thing around here.

 

Nothing like that. I think we had a little snow stick to the grass, but it was mostly rain.
