Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. Me and the family went to Ireland for spring break and I haven't had a chance to get on for about 2 weeks.

I was saddened to see the news about dexterday. Prayers to his family, very sad.

Yesterday was ABSOLUTELY AWESOME .....73 F outside......
The Forecast is SNOW by Sunday/Monday.....
I have never seen Snow here this late in the season.....March 25th is the latest I have ever seen any snow at this elevation.......
Maybe some hail pellets.....but not sticking snow.

We had all the stoves OFF last night....Tossed a fire in the little stove when I got up a bit ago....
Gonna be an interesting few days coming up for sure.......Gotta be that GLOBAL COOLING THING.

Fired up the P68 last night for a few hours. First time in well over a week.

Cold and dreary. Incoming system started as sleet, but quickly turned to a cold rain.

Yesterday really sucked at my place as my wife of nearly 51 years passed away at Goswell Memorial Hospice after suffering a major right side stroke on Saturday evening March 26th.

My stoves have not been running much over the last week. I think the P43 is running more than the basement stove. It cycles a couple of times at night, and a couple of times before noon. But even though most days have been overcast (some with heavy rain), the place is catching enough solar gain that afternoons and evenings the place maintains 69-70*. Yesterday the sun actually broke out about 5 pm, and the living room briefly got up to 74* before the orb dropped behind the houses to the west of me.

The P43 just started up about 1/2 an hour ago and I think that is the first time since yesterday morning even though the outside temp is 34* (no wind is very helpful)

And the Mini split has been off - I had been running it during the day and P43 at night until last weekend. But right now, I believe the stove is more efficient since it isn't constantly sampling the air to figure out if it needs to run or not. And just as importantly, the office is staying a pretty constant temp.

We are playing stove roulette .....
Weds. afternoon saw low 70's F and we had everything shut off.
We had a spot fire (Little short term) Thurs AM ...
Yesterday we ran the little stove 24 hrs.....We let the little guy handle it through the night...
Not so well.....was only about 65F in here this morning at 4am
I stoked up the big stove and got it going.....
House will be toasty soon.....Low 30's F out this morning.

AND THE "S" WORD.....For Sunday night through Tuesday ....1000Ft snow level...We are at 1200Ft here at the ranch.....Good likelihood that we will get a a few inches.

Definitely gonna be a point of conversation for a long time.....

I am nearing 70 now and have never seen snow in April here anyways.

There is talk of over 2 feet in the higher mountains.....Wow.....One for the record books me thinks...
