Snow has won the battle once again. The "melt as soon as it lands" routine on the driveway (was only bare spot) ended overnight sometime. Not sure if plowing will happen or not. As close as I can tell, right around 5" out there but forecasted to continue throughout the day. Why not?

    Tomorrow, upper 30's and sunshine!

I was surprised yesterday when I saw how much green grass there is in spots and I didn't have to go very far south to find it.

Snow on the ground here as well. We got between a half inch and an inch. Nothing on the roads and driveway, just the grassy surfaces. It was just enough to delay again getting out and doing yard cleanup and working with firewood.:headbang::headbang:

Plenty of yard work and firewood duty to do here also. I am becoming more of a fair weather outdoorsman these days:whistle: I can wait for a decent day.

The highs have been around 45-55 the last 3 days, backed off to a forecasted 25 for today.
OH WAIT, THATS BEEN THE WIND SPEEDS!
Been super windy and dry all week, sustained winds in excess of 40mph on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. And no big branches down around town ( surprisingly).
Been burning a mixed bag of chunks and nuggets.

Serious wind and rain here last night. Flipped the squirrel baffle up and over the feeder pole. IMG_0811.JPG I heard the metal over this stack behind the shed flapping in the wind. It is screwed down on the right, but wasnt on the left! :emb: Just put it up there last week. IMG_0812.JPG

    Currently +7°F ambient temperature.
    Light breeze from the west
    Moon is out.
AND it's Snowing . About 1/2" of accumulation so far this evening.
I wondered why it had felt chilly in the house. . We really don't need any more snow. It would be a good day to go to the woods tomorrow. But I won't. Monday morning is soon enough. Age before valor nowadays.
Got the coals raked forward and the stove producing heat with 3 small rounds of fkws.
Going to put a few 4+" rounds of fire killed black spruce on soon and go to bed.
Had to go to the city today to have our taxes done.

Right at freezing here. It looks like this system is moving out. Good riddance.

Drizzling out at the moment and 44 degrees. Supposed to be unpleasant and wet all day today but drying out and around 50 tomorrow. Burning a small mixed load of ash and silver maple this morning.
