    Just venting I guess.

Everything I'd of liked to have bought equipment wise has gone up considerably in price over the past 3 years.

    Dump trailer...check

    3 point stump grinder...check

    Sawmill...check

All except my pay of course. I hope 2024 brings someone with a brain.

I'm to the point where I'm no longer going to wait for it to drop because I may be waiting forever. I bought a trailer last week and I'm starting on my shop lean-to next week. Barn will come later this summer or fall. Everything is stupid expensive compared to 3 years ago.

I think prices, at some point, will stop rising...but I highly doubt that things will come back down a meaningful amount.

Why is Massachusetts so expensive? I’ll leave it there and let you ponder on it. Until the root of it all goes away it’s just going to get worse. NOBODY EVER WILL WIN.

The economy is showing signs of slowing down in certain areas. Hence manufacturers will eventually be able to catch up on orders and places will have some inventory. That and a Looming recession along with stagflation and raising interest rates will bring more value to the dollar to help lower costs. Will it return to 2019? Probably not but how close?

Exactly. As long as you get it you can do your part to change it.

All I can say is spread the word. Start preaching now from a soapbox, failures are front and center at the moment.

I’ll tell you what gave me some hope, when that “nobody” trucker in South Jersey scored a win. We need more of that from coast to coast. I won’t hold my breath though.

Our company gave a 4% raise across the board a couple months ago. Don't get me wrong, its a lot better than a sharp stick in the eye, but too bad it doesn't do much to touch what's going on with the inflation situation.

It's not happening fast enough, entire 3x5' whiteboard full of jobs with materials ordered and still waiting weeks ( and some are months later, thus the VRBO I posted in Bullchitting thread) later. It's really bad. Bad. This affects 12 people and all of them have families to provide for too, over 50 people for sure when you include families.

I deal with it every single day. Was at a Kubota dealer today that had sold over a half million in equipment and attachments as an industrial sale to a large National company, cash sale with 1 purchase order. The dealer will not get his payment until every piece is delivered, unfortunately the units he received and sent to the customer he needs to pay for out of his own pocket. He’s still waiting on 3 machines and a huge amount of the attachments. The sale was made in December of 2020 and everything was ordered that day.I know lots of things that have taken a year roughly once ordered to be delivered. You have to think about the fact that manufacturers shut down for however long but orders were still coming in. On top of that people buying everything they can. If the manufacturer starts back up and production runs at normal level plus a few units extra every day pit will take years to catch up.

That looks like a loss of 4% not including food or petroleum.
