Got one dump trailer of wood dropped last night, supposed to get another today, and likely one more tomorrow. Should be at least a year's worth of wood. Can't beat the price....free.

scallops. Seafood is not common out here, so it's a real treat for him. Ugg, that little bag was $19.

Around here where they drag and or dive for them boat price is $15 per pound. That’s what the boat gets paid. $17 or so retail here is normal. I’d say $19 in Wyoming is more than fair with shipping. I can say though, I have a good friend who drags and I’ve been out several times with him, when you pull the drag up and pull out a scallop, shuck it and toss it down your throat, you’ll never taste anything better.

filled the pickup last weekend, had $0.50 off a gallon so filled it and put 2 gallons in a can when the pump shut off at $99.00. Darn gas hog.

Worked on another pile that's been sitting there for several years. Maple, locust, ash and mulberry. Maple is a little past prime but should still be fine. Also found a Possum at the end of the hollow of one log. Didn't see any blood so looked like I missed him by inches. Of course, he acted dead but this morning Lefty said he was gone, so with any luck, I won't go down for murder.
About 4 more logs to cut and that pile is ready for splitting. Hoping for close to 3 cords when it is all said and done. Not sure when we will tackle the big white oak that is behind it.

Your pictures remind me of how the land looks out there. I remember my DIL when she first came here from Omaha and she didn't notice a big difference in the amount of trees until she got into MI. And we aren't in the heavily forested area! But out there one can see for miles.

Good to hear there was no blood bath! Nice score. Some of the maple looks punky, hope it's just camera tricks.

The day is beginning as a sun filled day. Won't last for long as the weather is turning back to winter for awhile. Dang, the bare spot in my yard was just starting to show up once again!

Some days gone by of a nice load of hardwood. 8' box filled for $25! I am just about done burning this stuff but the sad part is the place no longer sells any wood. Period. Nothing.

In case you forgot where you were Dave, that is just a couple miles north of Arcadia. I like that spot and remember it when my folks took the family on a vacation. I remember stopping there and having dinner there too. I've been back a couple times. Even took my bride there on our honeymoon.

Thanks all. Should have finished the bucking, but not a fan of working in the rain. Yes, the maple should have been worked up a couple years ago but should work for either shoulder wood or Lefty will sell it at a discount for bonfires. I think I would have lost my lunch had I hit the possum and hope I never witness that kind of mess.
Nebraska along the interstate does make it very flat, but there are a lot of hills in this state. With a little luck, we can get it all split up this weekend. Need to make sure I keep time to work on the truck for it's long trip east in a few weeks. Have an offer to use my dad's 2010 Dodge (Ram) 1500 but we will see and who knows, may run across a deal on a newer wood getting truck.

And going east into Iowa you'll have hills. Enjoy the drive. It should be nice except around Chicago but I'm told it has gotten better.
