I wanted to share this story with you guys. I lived in Papua New Guinea from 2008 to 2019. Much of this country has only recently been contacted by any foreigners and is very much a third world country. I met this man names Peter and he was from one of those very remote and only recently reached village. He told me that his father only had a stone axe to cut trees and brush and only had a steel ax and machete. I had brought a Husqvarna 450 with me from the US and asked him if he wanted to see it. I showed him how fast it cuts wood and he was so excited about it. I showed him how to use it and it took him a while before he stopped moving it back and forth like a hand saw. He said it takes a long time to cut down trees and he thought it would be so nice to have. I thought about giving it to him but I am certain it would have stopped running or gotten dull and then never used again.

Every time I cut firewood I always think about Peter.

And imagine the labor and time saved if he'd run the saw for the afternoon.....he woulda had 3 years supply in a few hours. Then he could do other things with his time.
Or imagine the time we'd burn putting up wood if we could only cut manually....boggles the mind.
