After having my Stihl 029 Super for 21 years, I finally found a used Stihl 362 for $500.00. I got 150 for my 029 on trade in. I paid 260 for the 029 back in 2001 so with the trade in allowance, I had use of my 029 for 21 years for a grand total of $110. It is not a C model. Pics when I get my camera out. Looking forward to using it.

That will be a nice step up and will put quite the smile on your face. Enjoy.

Congrats on the new saw. Definitely a nice upgrade. Stihls are great for holding their value. Considered one but have my 361 which is its predecessor. Wanna see pics of it in action!

Paid 260 and got 150 21 years later? Sounds like that dealer treats you right!

YUP. I have dealt with them for over 30 years.
They would sell Stihl chain for $1.00 per inch. I didn't ask what they are getting now:( but I have a number of loops to last me the rest of my life.

Finally got out today to do some cutting with my new to me saw. I didn't want to abuse it much so I only worked on some paper birch. I cut up some of it last fall when the top of the tree broke out. I cut down the spar that was still standing and got it blocked up. I will split it later when the weather is a bit better. DSC03944.JPG DSC03942.JPG DSC03943.JPG The last couple of blocks closest to the stump were really solid and heavy.

Per inch of bar length, or per inch of chain ?
    That would be Expensive !

That would be per bar length. Chain for a 16 inch bar would be $16 plus some for the governor. With prices going nuts now, I don't know if they are still selling at that price.
