If the wire is attached and it doesn’t work, does that mean the switch is bad, or is there something else I need to check?
like trapper brad says, check resistance across the poles on the switch in the on position and the off. On should be high number, like infinity. Off should be a dead short. If it’s not that way the switch doesn’t have a path to ground. Is the little screw that connects the switch to the case still there?
I’m not near the saw atm, but I assumed it pops in and out like most old Husky switches. I have a spare switch I can try. I’ve encountered this a few times but it was a broken or disconnected wire that prevents ground.
272xp update Replaced the switch and problem solved. The switch does have a screw and it was there. I had an extra switch that I bought for a 288
