While reading the post about your best deer, I got to thinking about a deer my neighbor and a friend of his stumbled across while deer hunting in north St. Louis county, back in 1981. The deer was dead and I believe it was tangled in a fence, although cause of death was undetermined. You're probably thinking of the buck that is named the Illinois Roadkill Buck. Considered bigger than the Missouri Monarch and the Hole in the Horn Buck, it only scores 176 5/8 because of it's weird rack. My neighbor has talked about being there when his buddy found the Missouri Monarch, it's death is listed as natural causes. They're all impressive animals.
