You might be a wood hoarder if...

...you go downstairs to get something out of the freezer and instead go in the storage room to admire your chainsaw "hoard" and come back upstairs empty handed!

 

On a nice day, just to hear them run, smell the exhaust, feel the vibration in your hands....you go out and fire up the saws, mix up a batch of fuel, top off the smaller gas can/bar oil jug. Even though you're not planning to cut for a few weeks yet.

I call it preseason planning. But I just like the sound, smell, feel.

The extra daylight drives you nuts, because you are compelled to be working on firewood, but you’re already beat from working all day, so you start taking time off from work for firewood, but there’s really no need to be making extra firewood, but it’s better than working so why not

I DID go there today and the guy who runs the big machine had left for the day. He could scoop out pieces for me. Nothing else good had come in and what was halfway decent last week was now buried. A load of EWP was dumped while i was there. Sorry to disappoint SITM. I had the saw and was ready to cut.

 

If your co-workers know to always come your way and say "Hey, so my neighbor is taking down a tree..." you might be a wood hoarder.

At someone's house, it pains you (and you hear) the furnace kick on multiple times whilst visiting.

You suggest to people whose house you at, that they should think about burning wood, and you might be willing to help them out from time to time.
