Well, this was what my youngest daughter and my youngest granddaughter did last Friday. Tess took a gilt/sow for meat for the freezer. Auddie, she wanted a ram. Don't know what Tess is shooting but Auddie is shooting a 300 blackout. Eric has become so knowledgeable on bullets, ballistics and knock down energy. I am a proud dad/grandpa to these three as they enjoy the out of doors, shooting and each other. Auddie is 7 years old now and in first grade. What a year for her, a doe, then a buck now a ram. The taxidermist likes her year! They went to Ted Nugent's farm in Michigan. CAUTION: HARVEST PICTURES BELOW.
Yep, son in law shot a female hog (gilt/sow) last year. They are basically grain fed with what acorns and plants they scavenge. Great tasting. So daughter wanted to try this year. With the talk since last year, youngest has been saying she wanted to shoot a ram, so here we are! I don't know what the plans are for the ram meat. But bet it will be delicious also. I am quite proud of all of them. He was a hunter through high school, Tess rabbit hunted with me when she was in school. Audrey is a product of two outdoor enthusiasts that don't push her but she chooses to go versus coming here to help with chores most time. She is also quite the fisherman! As a preschooler she lipped her fish!
Many memories both hunting and fishing with Dad from a very young age that will never go away. He has been gone for a while now but the great times we had together live on. Enjoy the time together.
