So I sold my 500i sometime ago for the ridiculous amount of 2400.00. Just got it back for a single cord of dry firewood. The out- of- stater I sold it to called and said would you like it back? I said not unless it was for 600 bucks. He said "well I never got around to using it, but I need some wood really bad, would you get me a load for your saw back?" I said yes. I paid 1300 for it originally. Just the saw and a 3/4 wrap, which is SOP here. I sold it for 2400 and the guy never even started it once. I'm never gamble, but I bought a lottery ticket on the way home. I have it sold again for a thousand bucks to a 16 year old who wants to get into the firewood business. I already taught him how to tune a saw in the cut before, so I don't feel guilty for selling a fuel injected saw to him. He is exited to make some money. Wish I could figure out how to do this all time.
If I could get one. I bought the only one the dealer here in rural montana received last spring. Crazy stuff. Bozeman is a big city about 3 and a half hours from here. They get some every few months I guess, but the forest service gets them.
I think so. He has some serious cash I believe. He hired a friend of mine to take a couple old airstreams, strip them out, and tongue and groove the whole interior. He has long hair, and wears hipster ankle tight jeans stuffed into some duded-up cowboy boots. I'll take the money.
Absolutely. I guess he wanted to start a sushi place here. Who wants to eat cold raw fish/bait in a place that you have to burn wood for 9 to 10 months a year?

talked to a owner of a logging outfit close by, he said he fell a tree yesterday, that his 500 took 3 full tanks of fuel to work up, that included felling, bucking to lengths and limbing the tree. gas, regular gas is 4.49 a gallon downtown. thinkin its gonna get expensive fast, in all aspects of living.
That is the only reason I don't care for it so much. REALLY hard on fuel. The fuel doesn't matter so much as the time lost to fuel it up so often. I thing it is dumping fuel when not under full load. I'm not certain of this, but other than the fuel tank is a little small for the cubic inches of the saw, I'd like to find out one day.
I hear ya, for me, i'll stick with the old 044, the 261 my echo 590, both my husky 266's and the old "mack'' 1010, if i really get serious, and, they cut wood, they are just fine for me, my own opinion.
