Snowstorm is wrapping up and the temperatures have dropped. 22 heading to the high teens by dawn. Looks like this could be the last gasp of winter for us. From here it’ll just be morning and evening burns. Right now I’ve got some spruce burning down a 2 day coal bed.

Made it to mid-30's but the south wind kept it pretty cold. Cleaned out printer and got it working again, a bunch of running around, made some slopy joes, put new batteries in one of the battery backups along with some goofing off.
May run out to Lefty's as it should get to mid-60's and next week is looking great.

1c/33f here right now. Ive been out all day so we let the fire go out. Stove is still warm and drafting nicely so a few twigs was all it took to get it going again. I found a bit of spruce in my stack so thats going on for the evening.

I just pressed "details" and it says 4.4MB as is. I broke my normal phone, I'm on a loaner. Google keeps asking for "permission to use video and photos". I'm sending it to my 2016 phone to see if that might work, it used to post pics here.

Yesterday it was sunny and 63 degrees. It’s currently 20 and we have 5+ inches of snow on the ground. It will be going down to 15 overnight with high winds. The overnight load for 6B363D10-41B9-437F-AD76-7917C2661D57.jpeg the Kuuma is a mix of poplar, ash, mulberry and tree of heaven.

17/72 heading for 10. Just loaded more maple. Turned all the clocks ahead, now heading for bed. Hoping to get some evening cutting done with more daylight.

Is that what those white dots in the pic are?
Love your trees. If I had trees like that bigger one on the right, Ide about wear it out climbing around in it!
Few trees in Alaska have that kind of inviting character to induce a guy to want to climb them and play around up there.

    I feel for you !
Last winter, the barley field in front of my property was prepared but left unplanted.
A few times we had a strong easterly that scrubbed the snow off it and we got a couple ton of dirt all over Everything! There were layers of it thru the depth of the snow. I wasn't too crazy about it because I knew the farmer had sprayed the field with weed killer. Everything was a dirty mess for a while a few times throughout the winter.
Prior to that it had all been in CRP. Almost 2,000 acres of bare frozen tilled dirt.
With the Icemeggedon we had on Dec 26 of this winter. There's no concern of that.
Wonder what caused all your top cover to crack apart ?

-14°F ambient temperature at the moment.
    Winds fairly calm
Fkws and fkbs in the stove.
We set our wall clock and I set my wrist watch ( fully analog ) ahead at noon today. Wanted to give my brain a head start on the time change. I think changing the clocks is STUPID !
But then I preferred it when we had 5 time zones in Alaska. Instead of Alaska Standard Time. Our daughter and grandkids live in southern Southeast Alaska. In the village of Metlakatla. A Tsimpsian Indian village. Actually a reservation. Only one in Alaska as the Tsimpsian's are not native to Alaska . They are from B.C. . Anyways, they don't change their clocks.
