Only a crazy wood hoarder would stop to take a pic of this. Along the interstate too. Log deck from a clearing cut for another billboard or what? Not sure. I stopped to take a pic!!!
I like how you got the Rt and mile marker in there Brad. Trying to lure in other hoarders? Looks to be Meriden area, just south of the Rt 5 junction. Three billboards already there. This must be #4?
As far as i know no. Need 4WD to get to it. Stumps, roots and rocks to contend with. There is access from the other side as i drove by there today, but look very muddy at a quick glance.
Wife has a homemade pizza pie in the oven right now and I'm sitting here messaging with someone that seems to want to preorder some firewood for his brand new wood stove for next winter
Yes on this! Very muddy in there . Years ago when I had a Jeep CJ5 and was into mud we used to go play up in that area , no lack of mud. When they put the newer billboards in a couple years ago the installed a temporary road there with large wooden timbers to keep the trucks from getting stuck. Your truck would be up to the axle in no time.
Waze rerouted us last week heading north and we drove by that exact spot Brad. I was surprised to see that much logging in that area. Wonder if it’s actual logging going on by the highway and in the woods. It looks like they had built a dirt access road back there. Not to often you see logging like that out in the open in CT. Last local logging I saw was on Mt Carmel Ave in Hamden post tornado.
I am guessing that it was cleared to allow more billboards and advertising. Not sure who owns that land but they can make money leasing that to the billboard company. Otherwise it is just wasted space.
