I went back home for the day to visit with Mom and Dad… on the way back almost was home and noticed tree trimming job at the base of the big hill. So what’s to do? Well of course I flipped a uturn. And went to see what they were going to do with the wood. So I went home and grabbed the trailer. Maybe a mile round trip and 20 minutes later I had some good elm wood… plus another two contacts…. It just so happens he’s good friends with my neighbor.

The Elm I got on a CL score with a pile of Black Locust wasn’t half bad. Did split tougher than other woods, but not terrible. Once in the stove it lit easy, and lasts a long while throwing quality heat. I wouldn’t search it out, but wouldn’t turn it down either.

Just goes to show, it doesn't hurt to ask, all they can do is say no. That practically fell into your lap!
