I was hoping someone would ask ! Green is our ok to tap color ! That way whoever is tapping..can't make a mistake !
We have a few maples that don't produce squat....so we put a red dot on those

Collected a little better than 150 gallons today....the drips got faster this afternoon...about 2 per second ! So we will start the RO on what we collected in the morning...go collect again....and off we go with our first boil ! Was a beautiful day to be in the woods to do anything! Shoveled a bunch of snow around our holding tank just to make sure the sap.stayed nice and cool !

Gathered after lunch today. 70 gallon of 1 3/4 % sap from 79 taps at one location , and 45 gallon of 2 1/4 % sap from 56 taps here. Will fire up and boil tomorrow morning. Had to replace five sap bags today that the squirrels chewed holes in.

Quite the operation you guys have going! Looking forward to tapping some of our maples for the first time this year. Sap Saks look easy to use, I’m trying to decide what kind of equipment to order. Hopefully equipment that’ll be used for years to come!

Sounds like you are doing awesome!
We will both be boiling tomorrow...good luck !
We are about 160 Sugar maple...40 red maple.... got about 2.5 percent all mixed in. Should be up to 5 percent one pass through the RO. Was hoping this first run would be higher sugar :(
Those darn squirrels ! We only lost one...not sure if it was the wind..or a squirrel lol

Finally just starting to boil.....ro is putting us at 5 percent sugar content . Came out of the tree at an average of 2.5 percent. Plus gets rid of half of the water..that we use for scrubbing and rinsing. Nothing goes to waste !

The big pipe is permeate (water)...the little pipe is concentrated sugar water. We only run one pass. Each pass doubles the sugar content....and gets rid of 50 percent of the water.

All taps shut off here pretty much. Only collected about 75 gallons today. All at about 2.5 percent sugar. Boiling good though!

Usually can chew through 25-30 gallons an hour. Long days..but soo much longer without the RO !

Love the pic of steam coming from the sugar house. Beautiful setting ! I only had 80 or 90 gallons to boil this morning , was done by nine. Was able to draw off two or three gallon. Will wait till late afternoon to gather , hopefully the rain will end

We are not even tapped yet for the year, in fact I was helping run new lines last weekend.

My dad had the property logged off, so we are starting with only 5-6 lines this year, still hoping for 6-700 taps.

When all the lines were in we were close to 2400 taps....maybe next year...

I got my 80 taps in last Sunday. All reds on drops into buckets. Picked up 21 gallons of 2% last night. I was going to boil tonight but my wife and I will be having our anniversary dinner instead.
