I had a few small orders to squeeze in between big orders I needed (2) 5in x 2.5in x 16ft locust headers for a customer 16ft locust is hard to come by I had this long twisted log I put on the mill you would think the boards would go every direction but that is the strange thing about locust most of the time it is real stable here is the log and the finished headers the boards on the loading arms are the offcut pieces I ended up with 10 1 x6x8' boards and the 2 headers out of a log you would think was firewood just a little more how locust can surprise you the total yield was $225.00 worth of lumber. I also had time to finish and deliver this stack of locust and the customer came to pick up 750 linear ft of 1x6 busy day sorry my computer skills are horrible somehow i loaded double pictures JB View attachment 330393 View attachment 330388 View attachment 330389 dec View attachment 330388 View attachment 330389
Missed this thread. Bl makes some nice stock for sure. Ive yet to use any of mine yet. Still stickered where i stacked it. Have to get more for buzz-saws mill. So what you're saying is a twisty log will be stable when milled?
Black locust is a strange wood some of the crooked logs make some nice boards and they stay straight even when dry I am sure some of the crooked stuff will move but BL does not seem to react the same as others JB
