Doing the burnoff with windows open and a fan.

This harman seems like star trek technology compared to what I'm coming from in a few respects.

So the wife and I trundle off the Meijers today (They are here in Michigan, similar to Krogers but carry not only groceries but clothes and automotive stuff too. Anyway we were on a bottled water run, we buy water in 2.5 gallon throw away plastic jugs for the humidifier because our well water is loaded with calcium and destroys humidifier filters in a day so...

I load 2 shopping cats with 2.5 gallon containers of 'spring water' and head to the checkout. When I get to the cashier she informs me there is a 2 jug limit on bottled water. Keep in mind I've been doing this all winter, like every 2 weeks and no one said squat and there is no signage on the racks where the water is that states 2 jugs only...

Said no problem, I'll just take 2 of the 16 containers in the 2 carts but I'm not putting the rest back, you are...lol They weigh about 15 pounds a jug....

Changed her tune real quick and told me not to take more than 2 next time. Next time will be the same amount just like this time.

Maybe I should use the self checkout instead...lol No, that isn't any fun. I'll try to get the same cashier again and my comment will be the same as this time.

Idiots never cease to amaze me.

Welp, some trouble already. An ungodly vibration that’s loud as hell even when you put it into whisper mode.

A call to the dealer tomorrow for sure.

You can feel the vibration on the back panels but touching them doesn’t stop it. Must be something inside.

Don Googleone suggests adjusting the feedrate, as too much fuel could be driving up the need for combustion air and causing a vibration. I have an OAK and it is a short run for it.

This unit is digitally controlled, so the feedrate was at a default of 65%. I slowly kicked it down and it does seem to make a difference.

Fingers crossed. Nothing worse than getting a new widget, and having problems. Even worse, if the wife is unhappy I have two issues to deal with.

So she's an idiot because she was just doing what she was told to do, or she's an idiot because she cut you slack and helped you out?

Neither. She was attempting to play 'God' with me and I don't ascribe to that attitude at all. I would have had no issue just taking 2 jugs IF THERE WAS A SIGN ON THE SHELF WHERE IT WAS AT THAT STATED THAT. There was nothing there. No restriction on quantity at all.

To get all the way to the checkout line and then be told there was when there was no sign or statement to that fact on the shelf where it was, to me that don't fly at all.

I had no issue only taking to but I wasn't about to push 30 gallons of water back across the store and put it back on the shelf just because. If she wanted to play 'God' then she could handle the labor part. Not me. I'm the customer. Not the stock boy.

Furthermore, when I need water again, if there is still no notice stating a limit on jugs, there will be a repeat performance and I'll make sure it's the same cashier again. I live by the old saying 'The lord grinds his axe exceedingly slow, but exceedingly fine".

This time however, I'll call corporate abut it. I don't roll over for anyone. If you want to, your prerogative not mine. In my view, that is one of the major issues in this country today, people rolling over at the slightest push. Me, I push back when justified and it was 100% justified.

Maybe I should have said, misinformed instead of an idiot thought there are a boatload of them out there breathing today.

Nice stove. OK several things-1- some of these were shipped with damaged convection blowers. Not a big deal, easy to fix.
2- This is not so easy- There seems to be a clearance problem with the combustion motor impellers. Harman has not addressed this problem, yet, that I know of. Stove can get noisy, but opening the hopper lid make sit worse. this usually happens after stove has been run a few weeks. Here is a post I wrote about it, for someone else--

"Well you can tell Harman I think this is probably the 5th time it has been reported, on the net. The motor is an external rotor EBM PAPST, the impeller is not adjustable. I can only think of 3 things that could happen to change the spacing-- 1 the shaft is pressed into the rotor, rides in bearings, and has slid out.Very doubtful to me. 2 the rubber mounts are giving too much. 3 the clearances are so tight, and something in the stove flexes/warps especially when hot.Either the combustion fan cover or the back of the stove where the fan mounts. Keep us in the loop, please."

You might want to show this to the Harman tech when he comes, a lot of times they are the last to know.
I would bet they come out with a different impeller for this issue.

I have an XXV with a questionable convection blower that will likely need replacement at some time. I have it working now and also have a blower ready to go if needed.

Question is this-does the XXV convection blower housing have bolts underneath that allow the housing unit to slide and drop out or are the bolts from above on either side of the tailpipe? No videos on an actual XXV I have found showing how it's removed.

I do see in this video (the guy didnt show the removal portion of how to replace-not very helpful) that there are 2 slots on one end making me think of the possibility that you loosen two bolts and it slides off the bolts?

OK, I just don't see it. I don't see anything plugged into the outlet, unless it's one of those computer "Surge strips". Hope not, since most of those are junk and don't stop hardly anything.

Sorry, never have replaced one in an XXV. It is the same blower as an Accentra, but the Accentra does not use the box setup, and uses different holes.

Too high? No, depending on the stove settings, what mode it is in, how much heat is being called for. Most Harman's will regularly flame right to the top of the firebox.

No, I think the saying is “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” - but you seem to have an 'axe to grind' with most things (tenants, animals, etc.) so I could see how that passage works for you.
