    Good Morning,
Weather supposed to be warmer this week in Southern Vermont around mid 30s.
Spent time in the shop on the wood splitter again yesterday removing the cradles and remounting them on one side. Getting close to starting on the log lift table. Waiting on a new toy to come in today hopefully to use for that (magnetic drill).
I’m self justifying this purchase with the splitter modifications <laughing>. Coulda put a healthy payment on another saw but I have 3 of those now thanks to you corruptive people. Now you have me wanting a UTV….

savemoney nothing against your daughter, or anyone in the military.! Part of me says she’s being taken advantage of! I was recently in Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center as most people are aware.

They are paying traveling nurses in excess of $115 an hour just to be there. They are using the National Guard to deliver meals because of the staff shortages.

There’s no way the guards paying any nurse $115 an hour! It doesn’t seem fair to me if they do that to them. I feel 70% of the nurses that were in Dartmouth taking care of me especially in the Covid wing, or what they call travelers. And there’s lotta hard feelings with the traveling nurses as they are demanding and getting these higher rates of pay.

So the nurses work at the hospital for 10 years is making $45 an hour and has to work what shifts she’s giving and has no say on vacation days

The travelers come in say I will work this shift these days and for these three months at 3 times your average pay

Pulling guard members who may be nurses in for this begs the question, who is filling in for them at their civilian job? Robbing Peter to pay Paul:doh:

Yes and no at the same time. They are usually pulled from states and or areas where they are not in critical need and moved to critical areas. It also helps with the training for the people who go and for the people who they go to help.

Every now and then you can get pictures like that. I don't remember where it was exactly now, but a while back I seen someone comment on a Facebook group that they thought a picture was California at first, but it was here in NL. (Cali.....I'm not sure if that's an insult or a compliment  )

Wouldn't want to look like your stereotypical tropical beach scene though. Palm trees don't much appeal to me, I like evergreens just fine.

Was that the first or second hospital. I recall one of them you didn't have a good experience in. At any rate, she will make the most out of it. She was working on a Covid unit in the DC area.
My granddaughter is active duty, so she was detailed from a military hospital to work in a civilian hospital. The military hospital is the one who will work short handed while their troops are deployed. They are skilled staff from all over the US.
That is happening here. Some non-medical guard members are working in the civilian hospitals around here. They are not doing direct patient care. In my granddaughter's case, she and the others sent are very skilled registered nurses. They only will be doing hands on care. not passing trays etc. My granddaughter shares an apartment in DC area with another nurse who is a traveling nurse. She is getting that $115/hr. plus lots of other perks. My granddaughter is 3ed generation US Army nurse for our family. She knew what she was getting into when she got commissioned. Her father, (my son in-law) is a Colonel in the Maine National Guard and works full time in the Guard. He mother was a Captain in the US Army. She works for the VA in surgery.
My granddaughter is single. She is pleased to be needed and to be able to serve.

That was the second hospital where she got much better care. I often wonder if she had gone there first...

I JUST FOUND IT!!!!!! (the bigger one, initial gift)

15' away from where I dropped it. I have a drawer unit with arts & crafts, and doggies bowls next to that. Leaned down to fill her bowl and there it was! Idk, we found a Christmas tree ornament hanger in her moustache once (the hooks like a paper clip) and it too was bent like the earring I found. I wonder if she picked the earring up too and it fell out of her moustache by her bowls but slightly under the drawers, or she found it recently and did the same. Weird! But awesome!!
