Well ive been saving for an MS400. Recently learned of an MS462 powerhead being only slightly heavier than a 400. (thanks Yawner for this tidbit :handshake:)
Happened to find this BARELY used Mtronic one for less than the out the door price of a new 400. 28" bar with a full skip chain included. Wasnt looking for it, but why not get more saw for less price?
By coincidence this MS261c was for sale in the same town so i made an hour trek (one way) and bought two "new" saws today. Been casually looking for a good used one to replace my carb version one. Only a few tanks through it. I had wanted Mtronic when i bought mine in 2019 on ebay. Too good of a deal at the time to send back, so kept it. My 460 & 261 now for sale. IMG_0400.JPG IMG_0401.JPG IMG_0402.JPG IMG_0403.JPG IMG_0404.JPG $950 for the 462 & $500 for the 261. Thought i did okay for the money.

My birthday is in April. Time to start saving AGAIN for my 400...unless another saw happens to come along! :makeitrain" Hoard on and cut safe :saw: my friends!

I like the 462 better than the 500i. Which is why I sold the 500 for a ridiculous amount of money (2400.00), and now have two 462'. You done good.

lol. Had to be made of air, gold would be too heavy. Just a weird deal. I STILL after 14 months or so of buying the 500, am the only guy in the valley to have bought one. I know the owners, and the manager of the stihl dealer, and she says that they have almost two dozen sold whenever they may come in. So at the hardware store I was talking about the five hundred, and a californian invader heard. Said he wanted one bad, and to throw out a crazy number. Well I did. Little did I know I should have said three grand. Anything is worth what someone will pay for it. I went and got another 462, some new bars, an fs56 weed eater, and still had enough lettuce to take the wife out for a king cut prime rib.

Good deal Brad. :dex: Pretty much my 2 saw plan. The 400 is a great saw but really to close to the 462. As you know the only reason I have mine is because I wasn't sure about getting my 462 back after the theft. Like Chud said get the outer dawgs for both. I'll try and post the p/n's for you.

Correct me if I am wrong but another member recalls when BRAD made a statement about " Never getting CAD"
Now I don't know how to do a search here to look at old posts so I can't confirm this but assuming this is true I have to ask....

" Hey BRAD , did you get the CAD vaccine? "
I'm guessing that is a big ole' NO.
