Does anyone else turn a 30 minute job into 2 hours? I rerouted a light from the edge of the appliance room to the middle. Had to instal a cross board to install the box on, and replaced the old ceramic fixture to a new one, but that shouldn't be complicated. First I wired it backwards, but realized that before going further. In my defense it was very dark and I thought I had gotten the black wire on the copper screw, but when I moved the light, nope, put it on the silver screw.

Good thing I got 2 new fixtures yesterday as I managed to break the first one right as I thought the job would be complete (except flipping the breaker). Ah well, just proud I didn't electrocute myself.

Where the light was originally located. Just a week or so ago I replaced the 60w light bulb with what is there now, a GE Ultra Bright LED that has three arms.

The light in it's new place

Each of the arms is angled differently; the closest one is aimed at the ground so I don't get blinded coming in from the washer side (it is on detection mode, so turns on by itself). The light to the left is angled at about 45* and the back light it angled about 90* to bounce the ight off the wall. Oh, and that light is on the lowest setting - I could get it much, much brighter if I wanted to

The reason I moved the light - after 8 years of living here, I can finally see into the stove without holding a flashlight

That is a real plus. Even with my lights on, I still use a flashlight to see the tray where the pellets burn. I have that dry macular degeneration so lighting is very important if I want to see anything.

Got all the plowing wrapped up earlier and took the plow off then I drug the kids around on sleds behind the ATV until the front end got so packed with snow I lost front braking, 4WD, most of my suspension travel, and about 50% of my steering. I'll park in in the garage for a while this evening and it'll be good as new. Not sure why the 4WD stops working...probably loosing contact on the e-locker or something. Oh well, only happens about once every 2-3 years and usually time to park it by then anyway.

How about getting a snowmobile? My son buys them, rebuilds them, and sells them. I think he does 6 to 10 a year. He just likes to tinker with them. Does a darn good job. Buy during the spring and summer, sell fall and winter. All local business. Sometimes he does boats and engines.

We don't get enough snow here to justify having one.

Bay de Verde. Is that the way the country says Green bay? Just curious and it looks about right.

Spent a good part of the morning plowing snow today. And digging up our yard faucet. UGH! Got it fixed though.

And enjoyed the plowing in my new to me RTV! 2009 but barely used. This is quite a workhorse that I and my wife will enjoy for property maintenance and horse care. 0D011D41-0768-4B31-840C-3FBC8AF4FD14.jpeg

I had to get the CAT 426 out because a whole bunch of snow had come off the back of the barn roof right in front of the horse doors about three to four feet away from barn. And it had all froze solid with the temps we had. I used the front bucket and then the backhoe to break it all up and scratch right down to the ground. Now there is a bunch more snow up on the roof. I Yi Yi :picard:

The man that I bought the RTV off left a toolbox in the back. 8498EFC4-094C-451B-8654-466D6EB2C842.jpeg
A few hours this evening is being spent cleaning it out and hopefully taking it out.

It had a bunch of stuff in it. Some of it junk, but some of it I can use, or maybe someone else can use it. 38761B65-E982-4A7A-88D1-A9A070CE7D38.jpeg

When asked why he was selling the RTV he told me he and his wife are moving to Florida for the winters now. I said I don’t blame ya. They own a place in central N.Y. and a place up in Northern NY. Selling the one in Central NY and buying a place in Florida for winter months.

I’m cleaning out the toolbox so I can take it out of the bed. I want the bed space. It would be handy to have this back there sometimes. But most times I will want the space in the bed for firewood! We have our priorities here. Don’t ya know?!

Time to find a place for this stuff and see if I can get the four bolts that hold this toolbox in place out without too much trouble.

Early tomorrow morning I’ll take the farm triangle off from the cab and maybe put it on the back of the tailgate or leave it off altogether.

Well, that is true, but then there is this.

    Baie Verte.JPG

One translation suggests Bay de Verde would be Mr de Verde translated from French to English, but the town history site says the name is of Portuguese origin not French.

    Bay de Verde.JPG

So apparently there are two "Green Bays"

Looks like the back end may get pretty light once that plow is raised?

    Anyway, congrats!

It's amazing just how compacted that snow can get once it slides off the roof! I always get it before it has a chance to freeze.

You would think. But under the bed is the entire engine, radiator, fuel tank, etc. up front under the hood is battery and other stuff. I haven’t even had a chance to look at all that up there yet. These things are heavier duty for their size. Built for work.

I let the snow go a few days because of other things needing to be done. D’Oh!
