38F here, got to 50 for a minute. Raining now & supposed to turn to snow by early morning. 6-10" forecast for us & almost double that to the SE. I'm back to Beech and Oak, ran out of Spruce.
Started today at 28, then the wind picked up early morning and blew 25-40mph all day and is still a good 15-20mph, 10 out right now. OWB is loaded with Burr oak, I got to say, this is probably the first 3 year seasoned oak I have burnt and man it burns nice.
-12°F ambient winds E, SE to 20 mph at the house and to 35 in the tree tops. Dry aspen in the Alaska Campground Woodstoves , woodstove. I was out tonight at 11pm setting up the generator for the overnight vehicle plug in. I was busy for about half hour. I was surprised when I walked back to the house ( into the wind) how much my face was stinging. I know we've recently had a brewhaha about windchill. But, it is an important thing to keep in mind if someone has exposed skin.
We get just about everything in the next 4 days. 40's today t0 -4 Saturday. Wind, sun, clouds, rain, snow.
I’m sure you do it, but make sure you have a plan and a timeline when you go outside so someone can come get you should the unexpected happen. Nothing more dangerous than working alone in those conditions where the simplest thing can mess up the easiest task…
18/71 ash, cherry, locust Getting to upper 40s today, then rain tomorrow turning into wintry mix with falling temps
23º right now but supposed to go up rapidly! May get to 51º , having a heat wave!!! I have a Oak split I put on at 0500 still burning away. May let the stove go out and clean some ash out.
33 and 70. It was upto 55 yesterday, I let the fire go out. Just started a fire with hackberry and red oak.
34 and pouring rain and windy. Supposed to switch over to snow around noon and accumulate 3"-12" depending on what forecast you look at. Rain on frozen ground is making puddles everywhere. Boiler still working on some ash from last night. I'll top it off later this evening.
28 now and falling throughout the day. Red oak and a little hickory in the Lopi. Snow and freezing rain for the next two days. Mike in Okla
This is refreshing! And it’s only 11:23. I have some White Pine, White Spruce, and Maple keeping the Wood Gun plenty warm for these temperatures.
Still warming up. Snow melting. But as you can see below, we have more on the way. Currently saying 6-12” for the storm. Maybe more depending on where you look. I’m hoping for less!
