I have 9 degrees on my outside thermometer. 73 in. 2 splits of mulberry and 2 chestnut oak in the England's.
8", so not a big deal. Nice covering for the ground. 2F for the low so far. Loaded some more Spruce for the day.
Right at 0 here. Heat system is keeping up nicely even though I still have all the pump speeds on low. I wasn't confident I put enough wood on the boiler yesterday afternoon but there was still 25% of a load of hickory on there....enough to get me to this evening.
-9/66. Winter was late this year, but it’s definitely here now. Burning mostly elm this morning. Out of seasoned oak unless there’s a few more strays in the next stack.
It's cold out . Ash, honey locust, apple, and oak in the insert. The furnace has been pretty quiet. I actually depend on it to circulate some warm air when it gets really cold. Checking on that now...
-2 when I headed out the door this morning. Stove was loaded with black locust and a few splits of elm.
Just looked and the temp is back down to 75 inside and it has also dropped outside to -10. Figured maybe I'd give the stove more air and I wondered why the new load hadn't taken off very well. Hum... Senior moment. I had forgotten to put any more wood in the stove but there were still some coals to work with.
Ok. The furnace wasn't kicking in. T stat couldn't get it to turn on. I went downstairs, and reset the power to it, and it started up. It operated as normal when I left for work. I'll have to have my wife report back to make sure it turns on as normal next time. Weird.
21 here which is as warm as it’s going to get until sometime tomorrow. I’m home on quarantine so just keeping the stove fed a little at a time. Trying to burn up my dwindling supply of black birch at the moment.
Low of 34* last night and the same for the past few days and very foggy. Doug Fir in the stove as usual and also burning up some thick Fir bark that I ran into in the stack. House is toasty!
-22 this morning but should be in the mid to upper 20's tomorrow. Heat wave. Way nicer weather to bring down wood from the shed.
